The USMC is paying special tribute this year to commemorate 60 years since the Battle of the Chosin and the assault by 60,000 Chinese Communists on the UN force:

The ceremony was held ahead of the 60th anniversary of the battle when between November 27 and December 13, 1950, some 30,000 United Nations troops under the command of Major General Edward Almond were encircled by approximately 60,000 Chinese troops under the command of Song Shi-Lun.
