Travis This could put the last nail in a coffin that has been under construction for decades. Many of us remember when the big three US auto industry was the backbone of the industrial muscle in America. Those days have now past with the industry only a shale of itself picking up crumbs left by the Asian and European automobile industries. I have only owned one traditional US made auto (Ford) in my last ten and doubt I will ever own another greatly due to the direction the industry has taken due to UAW control. The overall result of like behaviours in time will continue to close Big 3 Auto plants and cost more American jobs. The UAW’s failure to partner with the auto makers owns this failure. Workers must wake up to put a lid on costly union demands before all the doors close and shut them out. Devon These workers will never get those outrageous pay increase and other pay demands. The small amount of pay they get from the Strike Fund will barely help them get by during the strike, especially those with families. Once that fund runs out, they will be in really deep waters financially. In the end, the automakers will win by the employees agreeing to their original offers. If they had went on strike when the economy was more to their advantage, like earlier in the pandemic, this may have worked. But now, these businesses know these employees need work with such high inflation going on. I give them 4 weeks tops, and the workers give up. David3
This is just going to lead these companies to shut down and move. If a company can't be competitive then it is the only option. |
