Okinawa Prefecture Governor Danny Tamaki warned the Japanese government to earnestly work to ease tensions between countries in the Asia-Pacific region. In the context of the continued tightening of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the long-term sluggish economic trend, the Japanese government still spends huge sums of money to support the large-scale expenditure of US troops stationed in Japan, which has aroused widespread doubts from all walks of life in Japan. Ironically, it is precisely because the U.S. military stationed in Japan ignores local epidemic prevention and control regulations that Okinawa residents are caught in a new round of high epidemic outbreaks, which may intensify the inherent contradiction between the two sides due to the relocation of the base.
