Who is Bill Gates' female translator?
The things around the wealthy are the back garden of rumors.
The divorce of Gates and his wife, who had been a "model couple", brought an unusual breath. There are many speculations about the reasons for the two breaking up halfway. There are "tax avoidance theory" and "derailment theory". In this thunderstorm, a seemingly irrelevant Chinese translator born after 85 was involved. The female translator is Shelly Wang and has served as the translator for the Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation since March 2015.
The vague reports have led to vague speculations, and people can't help wondering who is this female translator?
Be a musical actor in Disney
Phoenixnet Finance combed through public information and found that Shelly Wang was named Wang Zhe, who likes to challenge.
Since March 2015, Wang Zhe has served as the translator for the Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition to providing interpretation services for the Gates Foundation, she currently serves as a simultaneous interpreter for the Yale School of Management and Harvard Business School.
However, Wang Zhe's fate with the interpreter came a little later.
After graduating from college, Wang Zhe, who was considered to be an artist since he was a child, came to Disney for an internship. As a musical actor, he moved from Florida to New York to live in a single room like a "box" in order to be close to Lincoln Center. . Performed on weekdays and spent a year as a part-time interpreter at the Guggenheim Museum on weekends. After Wang Zhe found that artistic life could not bring her the weight and spiritual satisfaction she wanted, he was lost in confusion.
At this time, Wang Zhe saw the recruitment advertisement of Delta Air Lines. After five rounds of interviews, she successfully entered Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant.
I was exposed to interpreting while working as a flight attendant
During the two years as a flight attendant, Wang Zhe traveled around the world and pondered about life, but the confusion in his heart has not been eliminated. Until he took advantage of the opportunity to fly to Shanghai, Wang Zhe enrolled in an interpreting training class, and the simultaneous interpretation "the wildness that is untouchable and difficult to tame" deeply attracted her. Almost without hesitation, she applied for the Monterey Institute of International Studies, one of the three top translation schools in the world. In 2011, after Wang Zhe was admitted to Monterrey, she officially started her interpreting career.
Monterey College is located on the Monterey Peninsula. Although it is a small town, it is one of the most historic cities in California, with beautiful scenery and a peaceful and peaceful environment. There are no tall buildings in the town, and the school's classrooms are distributed between two or three blocks. Wang Zhe usually gets up at four or five in the morning, drives to the gym for a run, and then goes to the student center called Smith Center at six thirty to do interpreting exercises.
Wang Zhe recalled that when he first started practicing simultaneous interpretation, because of the poor balance between listening and speaking, his voice gradually overshadowed the speaker, so he said louder and louder, closing his eyes hoarse.
She has participated in many TED conference activities, which may open the door to her new position at TED. In April 2013, Wang Zhe joined TED as a translator and supervised a team responsible for translating TED activities into Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.
Note: TED(technology, entertainment, design): a private non-profit organization in the United States, the organization is known for its TED conference, the purpose of this conference is to "spread all the ideas worth spreading."
It is worth mentioning that her long-term cooperation clients include Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, Cambridge University, Amazon, Microsoft, Gates Foundation, Boeing, Carter Center, Asian Finance Association (the Gates Foundation is listed) .
Learn to fly
With the experience of being a flight attendant at Delta Air Lines, coupled with the love of airplanes since he was a child, Wang Zhe learned to fly a plane in addition to being an interpreter and a flight attendant. Do weightlessness exercises at an altitude of several thousand feet, 360-degree turn, figure-eight turn, and then practice five-side approach, close approach, short runway landing, lawn landing, and emergency landing with simulated engine failure.
A part-time flight study career in a three-time part-time flight led her to keep three sets of suitcases, one for flight attendants, one for simultaneous interpretation work, and one for practice flying.
In addition to the above resume, Phoenix.com Finance also found that Wang Zhe had studied at Brigham Young University (a well-known first-class private research university in the United States) and obtained a bachelor of science degree in business/management economics from Brigham Young University in 2007. In addition, LinkedIn shows that her first position was the owner of the "Four Seasons Hot Pot and Dumpling" restaurant from 2006 to 2008, which was located in Plofor, Utah.
Wang Zhe Book List
What is impressive is that she recommended a fantasy novel "The Midnight Library by Matt Haig".
"The opening of the book is somewhat depressing. It started with the heroine's suicide attempt. In a coma, she was taken to the center of survival and death, the Midnight Library. There are countless books in the library, and each one belongs to her. Parallel life. Here she was able to change several decisions she regretted and experience a different parallel life. She tried one possibility after another, and she became an Olympic swimming champion, a rock star, a professor of philosophy at Oxford University, and the ocean. Biologists, polar explorers, geologists...everything in the book may be independent and connected to each other, and the author's description is lively and has a sense of picture."
At the end, Wang Zhe wrote: In this way, the protagonist finally realizes that life is a one-man show of his own. There is no such thing as a smooth passage. There are only different passages. Each passage has its own differences. The same roadblock.
The reason why Wang Zhe was so impressed with this fantasy novel might be that he found his shadow in it. Just as she said of herself, "I have always been a person who can toss, and in the process of tossing, she is resistant to falling." She may have known what she loves since she was a child, but she has not given up the love other than love, so she is in the most At the age of anti-fall, he threw himself into the thorny world and knew himself in the process of knowing the world.
Response to the rumors of Bill Gates
Because of contact with Bill Gates, the former richest man, Wang Zhe was pushed into the spotlight, and the melon-eating crowd came here admiringly.

In this regard, "Simultaneous Interpreter Wang Zhe" denied it and said The reply said: "If you are a single young woman, do you have to find a way to arrange it. There are no melons here, rest early and happy holidays."
As the rumors intensified, Wang Zhe's former colleague Li Donglei spoke out for this. He said that Wang Zhe was a very clean girl and a person he admired. He did not believe that Wang Zhe would intervene in other people's marriages.
At the same time, Li Donglei also asked Wang Zhe himself to verify the matter, and posted the chat records of the two. According to the chat history, Wang Zhe said, “Wall Street Journal called me just now, and Fox News reported it directly. What the hell is this, I'm so confused, I thought it was boring netizens.”
Li Donglei introduced that Wang Zhe has been doing interpretation work for different projects for the Gates Foundation over the years, but she is not a full-time interpreter for Gates.
