An RMN spokesperson told IHS Jane's on 17 June that the assets, Kedah-class corvette KD Terengganu (174), Perdana-class FAC KD Ganyang (3504), and Handalan-class FAC KD Pendekar (3513), have joined nine patrol vessels from the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), which have been searching for the tanker since it was reported to be uncontactable.
"We will also be deploying a Fennec helicopter to join the search," said the RMN spokesperson, who added that the search area has now been extended with the additional assets available.
