The E-2C operates exclusively on CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery) carriers, such as the US Nimitz or Ford classes.  Northrop Grumman conducted successful land-based tests simulating ski-jump (ramp) takeoffs to prove its feasibility for export,  but  would have to launch at a significantly reduced maximum takeoff weight—meaning it would have to trade off fuel and payload capacity.
