Second Republic: 1916 (after Yuan's death) - 1928 (軍閥時代. A namesake republic central government, but governed by various warlords, including KMT) Ended when northern government relinquish its sovereign. 

Third Republic: 1928 - 1949 中華民國國民政府

Fourth Republic: 1949 - present 中華人民共和國
