After BREXIT, British is looking for a new strategy to maintain its status, influrence and worldwide interests. It is highly possible that they are checking out the strategy back in late 1800 to early 1900. During that time, the two former empires (British Empire and Japanese Empire) signed the notorious alliance treaty. Both United Kindom and Japan are island country, and they both understand the importance of beiing an ultimate arbitrator of the continental affairs. The consolidation of continental powers (Franc-Deutch and Sino-Russia) is nightmare to them. The treaty gave each other the support of such influrence in its own hemisphere. It worked really well then. However, the time has changed over the last 100 years. New power, new wealth and new geopolitical structure make such arrangement more difficult. Will Great Britain pick up this old strategy again this time? Only time will tell.
