China's hypersonic missiles are all based on the theories of Dr. Qian Xuesen, the father of all China's missiles. He was a professor at Caltech and a US Army lieutenant colonel. If you search for his name, you'll find a photo of him in front of a blackboard in the 1940s, showing a globe with a line drawn from New York to Paris. This was his proposed trajectory for future travel. Later, he returned to China and developed all of China's ICBMs. Today, China uses his theories for all space travel and hypersonic missiles, which reenter the atmosphere not directly but by gliding to accurately reach their targets.
